Who Knew That Beets Could Taste This Good?


We went to Val's favorite restaurant, Atelier, for her birthday lunch today.  She had the seven-course menu with matching champagnes - only the best for Val!  I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable eating alone so I felt obliged to have the same.

Roasted beets in almond puree with olive oil

Smoked celery root with remoulade

Fish with some kind of doodads

Asparagus with langoustine and pistachio

Cod with fava beans

Gotta have something to wash this down with!

Bull filet with an egg on top and larvae on the side

Pre-dessert (yes, those are peas)

Dessert (apple three ways)

Post-dessert
